Electrical Emergency Services
What do you do when the lights go out in an Electrical Emergency?
First thing: Don’t panic!
Second thing: Grab a torch (it’s good idea to always keep one handy, along with spare batteries in case you go for long periods without using it).
Your next step in an electrical emergency is to check the trip switches in your Consumer Unit, sometimes called a fuse box. Ideally, all of your trip switches should be in the UP or “on” position.
Should you find any trip switches in the DOWN or “off” position, try moving them to the UP position and checking to see if the power is restored.
If you have a trip switch that will not move into the UP position, it is likely that your electrical emergency requires the help of a professional electrician, like 5Star Electrical.
If all of your trip switches are in the UP position and you still have no power, check with your neighbours to find out if anyone on your road is experiencing a problem. In that case, you may have no electricity entering your home and you should notify your local electricity provider, Electricity North West.
If you determine that the electrical emergency is yours and yours alone, give 5Star Electrical a call. We can generally reach anywhere in Stockport, Bramhall, Hazel Grove, Marple, Wilmslow, Cheadle, Poynton and Handforth within an hour, sometimes much less. Our Stockport emergency electrician will advise how long you are likely to have to wait for their arrival.
A uniformed, courteous, highly-qualified local electrician from our staff will be dispatched to your home as soon as possible, in an easily recognisable van that is well-stocked with everything needed to handle most domestic electrical emergencies.
